how to: throw an all american party

July 27th, 2011 - by

Who says that patriotic parties are only for the 4th of July??

Did you know that in 2008, over 1 million people became US citizens?

Last week, my brother in law became a US citizen.  At his ceremony, there were 187 people being sworn in, representing 50 different countries!  My sister decided to throw a little party to celebrate his new status.

So, what do you need to throw a great All-American party?

Beautiful scenery

Good music

Fun fireworks

And of course, GOOD FOOD!!

Don’t forget to include All-American favorites when it comes to the food.  You can serve hamburgers, hot dogs or do a good bbq.  And for dessert, don’t forget the apple pie!!  This was also a great chance for me to make a flag cake that I’ve been wanting to try out!  There is a lot of red, white and blue candy out there that is sold year round, as well.

No matter what time of year it is, celebrating someone’s new American status is a great reason to celebrate!!
