I love garlic. I put it in just about everything. But roasted garlic takes the flavor to a whole new level! Roasting the garlic mellows out the flavor, leaving you with a sweet, creamy, nutty substance that tastes just amazing. And it’s super easy to make at home! If you’ve ever run across a recipe that calls for roasted garlic, here’s your guide to roasting your own garlic at home!
– Remove the papery skin from the outside of the garlic, but leave the individual cloves intact.
– Cut off the top of the bulb. You want to leave as much as possible, but you want to expose the tops of the majority of the cloves.
– Douse with olive oil. Make sure you have enough to coat the top of each clove. Use your fingers to spread it, if needed.
– Wrap the whole thing in tin foil and throw it in the oven.
– Cook for about 30 minutes. You will know it’s done when the cloves feel soft when you press them.
– Once the garlic is cool enough to handle, squeeze the cloves out of the papery skin.
