I am constantly surprised at some of the kitchen tools that I always just thought that I “wanted” instead of needed, but I find myself always using them. I definitely think you can get by on a minimalist kitchen, but these are just a few of the things I find myself so grateful for and that have become my kitchen essentials!!
Kitchen Scale: not only does it make baking more accurate, (especially when you come across a recipe that only lists ingredients in weight), but it comes in handy for things like vegetables and pasta. I’ve been buying my pasta in bulk, and recipes always call for the weight of the pasta. Since my pasta isn’t in a box with the weight right on it, I know I can count on my scale! The same goes for veggies – it sure helps out when a recipe calls for a certain weight!
Food Processor: This is one that was on my “want” list for a long time, and then after receiving some birthday money several years ago, that is what I purchased. I can’t tell you just how much use that food processor gets!! I have it out at least once a week, usually more. It’s perfect for anything from pureeing things to grating things to mixing up pie dough!
Stand Mixer: This is along the same lines as the food processor, but I love my Kitchen Aid! Sure, for most things I could get by with a hand mixer, but that stand mixer sure does make things so much easier!
Marble Slab: A few years ago, my brother worked for a company that did countertops, and I was able to get a scrap of marble. My countertops at home are granite tile, so rolling out dough on them is a nightmare because of the spaces between the tile. So not only has that marble slab saved my pies and cut out cookies, but it’s also great for keeping the temperature even!
What are some of your kitchen essentials?

I love my silicone baker’s rolling pin (extra long without handles). It was a birthday money purchase too and I can’t believe how much more evenly and quickly it rolls everything. Love it, can’t live without it!
I love my immersion blender. Hands down my favorite appliance.
