fyi: fiction and food

June 23rd, 2010 - by

One of my other loves, besides food, is reading.  But what happens when you combine books with food?  Pure reading enjoyment!!

I recently read a fun book called Eat Cake by Jeanne Ray, and it has set me off in search of other books where food plays a central role.  In my search of new books, I have learned that food related fiction is easy to find.  My list of books to read has grown, and I can’t wait to read them all!

Have you read any foodie fiction books?

It’s not fiction, but have you read Ruth Reichl’s books? They are so beautifully written!

I just finished “Dark Torte” by Diane Mott Davidson. I really enjoyed it and am ready to start her book “Sweet Revenge” tonight.

I love the Diane Mott Davidson books. I also like JoAnna Carl. The series stars with The Chocolate Cat Caper. A must read for chocoholics!

I have read the Hannah Swensen Mystery series by Joanne Fluke. It is a fun quick read with recipes included.

I also just finished Kitchen Confidential: Adventures in the Culinary Underbelly by Anthony Bourdain. Its a bit vulgur, but interesting.

I read “In Defense of Food” by by Michael Pollan recently. It’s non-fiction but that counts right?
